We are just processing to them and have been for quite sometime.

Conduct in school, on campus is quiet one thing vs. Your own private life and expressions which are none of their business. in the first place. You can still be ignorant or express Yourself on your own time and it doesn't require their approval or should it be a focus. If actual Criminal acts are committed then it may well be the business of agencies involved in responding to actual acts or conduct but that isn't the same as spying on People with the aim of trying to catch them doing something. as the objective.
