He was favored to win, so it was expected and turned out very close... 50.8 to 48.6
Congrats Correction, no one was favored to win... they were pretty much even going into vote day.

LTC Stephen F. - It seems to me some heads should roll... This is of course, my opinion. I think it is unfortunate the rapist was a transgender... I have seen a few transgendered people, and they really do look like the other sex, so they would be out of place in either bathroom. Many times, it is hard to tell what sex they are by looking at them.
Frankly, any boy could follow a girl into a bathroom, but why this "person" who had raped the first girl was allowed back into a public school is insane. I consider rape a violent crime and I believe the penalties are far to lenient for violent crimes, especially for rape. Many times the punishment is to harsh for nonviolent crimes that should be rehabilitated rather than punished.... of course, if it is over money, the victims should get satisfactory justice.
I have no idea why my comments were removed, but I had already decided to talk less politics... I get too stressed for no reason, and it's doubtful I will change anyone's views as we all believe what we believe and the older we get, I believe the more set in our views we get.... One thing that was removed was the speech Obama gave in Virginia, so people could watch the video and decide for themselves. Anyway, Cheerio!

I was also wrong about the Republican being favored to win... it was pretty much even going into vote day...

According to polls yes, my friend PFC David Foster
1. I have lived in area which is a location where many people commute to DC in various administrations. We have a Trump national golf course at one end [near where I used to live before we were evicted] and Lyndon Larouche actively campaigned here in the 1990s. [I used to debate some of his followers around a fire in a barrel to keep warm by a local fire station.
2. This are has a significant turn-over in people over the past few decades. It is an area where some of the wealthiest live [west] to a poorer area where non-citizens live and MS-13 is active [where I currently live]. Loudoun County was considered the wealthiest county for some time.
3. The county has gone from solid conservative [red] to mixed [purple] and liberal [blue] and back and forth. I used to volunteer at the polls as a conservative and have friends on all sides.
4. I have stayed in touch with many informed people and keep my ears to the ground around the state. The majority in my county voted liberal this election, while neighboring counties of Carroll, Culpeper, Cumberland, Fauquier, voted conservative and Fairfax was mixed and yet increased in conservative voting.

Thank you my friend A1C Riley Sanders for responding. I concur the victory in Virginia of republicans Glenn Youngkin, Winsome Sears [Lt Gov] and Jason Miyares [AG] as well as the New Jersey governor election are indicators of a sea change .
