SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL Some Truly Horrendous Number. 3/4 of Million Americans Dead. If Common Sense had been exercised sooner I wonder How Many would have been saved.

More people still die from obesity each year, what are we actively doing to stop that?

The Center for Disease Control says attributed obesity deaths per year in America are over 76,000, which is almost double attributed to car accidents (40,000) and over 5 times the deaths attributed to gun violence (15,000).

We've lost 10 times that many people to COVID19 since March of last year....

However, obesity does contribute to many other kinds of death, so you are basically correct. Obesity is not a communicable disease like COVID19... It is much more difficult to fight, we are practically up against an entire culture epidemic. We do a lot, but we should do more... IMO, it is a learned behavior and should be taught in schools at an early age.... In France, they prepare the children 3 or 4 course healthy meal for lunch and serve them at the table wearing white gloves. I mean little kids, this changes their mindset on eating from an early age.... nutrition is also taught in school.

That's about 15 times the number of soldiers we lost in Viet Nam, and still they are saying to themselves, why should I be so afraid of a flu that only has a 1% kill rate. First of all, it has almost a 2% kill rate, and secondly, if all Americans catch it, 1% would 3,300,000 deaths in America...

Disease used to kill more than combat. What people dont see does not affect them. I do paracentesis on people almost daily and most of the time it is from to much alcohol. These folks were not thinking about this when out having a good time and I cannot parade the youth through my unit on a daily basis. I have taken all three COVID shots and am so glad I am not a heavy drinker after working here.
