Marine Corps officer who criticized military leaders locked up at Camp Lejeune

They need to let him leave; they are making a martyr of him... all the sympathy is on his side whether or not you agree with him

I told flag officers exactly what I thought of their decisions on a couple of occasions. But only after they asked me, and NEVER in front of subordinates, civilians, or through the media. One appreciated it and had me transferred to his staff. The other wanted to be told how wonderful his idea was, IMO it wasn't; but I suffered no career consequences

As much as he has the right to talk, he blew it, what he should have done is retiire then say what he thinks And feels about the pull out.
