APOD: 2021 September 13 - Night Sky Reflected

Good morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Night Sky Reflected." This composite image was produced in mid-2019 in Mostardas, Brazil, and won first place in the Connecting to the Dark division of the International Dark-Sky Association's Capture the Dark photography contest for 2021. The reflections in the shallow pool of water give "a dream within a dream" sense to the overall scene. The Small and Large Magellanic Clouds are to the left and right (respectively) of the astrophotographer. The bright point in the upper right is the Carina Nebula. I'm at a loss for words to described the optical effect of the double reflection in the pool (of the mirror and its reflection). I suspect it is the result of multiple exposures that have been stitched together seamlessly. No wonder it took First Place.
