I live in Canada. In Canada, We do not have teachers' unions that act like Mafia Dons who tell the President how the CDC will write the SOP on avoiding how to teach kids in person.
In Canada, the kids have been back to school from January 2021 until mid-April. The 3rd wave is hitting Canada and kids 6th Grade and below attend School while the 7th and above are back to Online schooling until the infection rate goes down. I wish the USA would follow this model but the Teachers Union Tail wags the dog in the White House.
Canada also stopped flights from India and Pakistan a week before the US did yet the Media did not criticize the administration for taking too long compared to Canada.
Canada did not have Trump's Operation Warp Speed Vaccination program. Canada relied on China, the EU, and now the USA to get its COVID 19 vaccinations. It is in short supply. Canada is only now getting to those in the 50s age bracket. So many of you put POTUS Trump down on his Covid 19 response and Operation Warp Speed. Most of the Naysayers know nothing of Canada's FUBAR response. Just ask or do a google search on Canada's Ate Up attempts to get the vaccines from abroad. They did not make any in-house. VP Pence followed through did not hide as our current VP has for the last 40 days on difficult tasks assigned to him. He coordinated with a 4 -Star General and the Pharma industry to make the 3 vaccines happen. If you accuse me of Whataboutism, too bad!

What happens when President and Dr. Biden ask a group of 5th graders what they thought of virtual learning. Brutal honesty.
Thank you my friend LTC (Join to see) for making us aware that elementary school children at Yorktown Elementary School [open four days per week, with students attending Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Students don't come to class Wednesday so the school can be cleaned.]

Students at a Virginia fifth grade classroom told President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden Monday that virtual learning gave them the chance to eat, take naps, and even fake technical glitches in order to avoid answering questions.
The school, Yorktown Elementary School, is now open four days per week, with students attending Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Students don't come to class Wednesday so the school can be cleaned.
One said, "if we were really tired, we could like take a little nap." Another said, "sometimes when Ms. B was like paying attention to something else you could eat and it was fun." Yet another student added that, "If you don't know the question, you can just pretend like your mic doesn't work."

I’ve had my kids in private school and they never stopped going to in person class. Perks of smaller classes.

My daughter teaches in Georgia. The whole virtual learning has been a mess and has compounded her work. They had in class learning and virtual learning. She had to keep two sets of progress reports. Kids tried to switch between them, it was a mess.
