The filibuster issue has been twisted, turned, spun, done, redone, talked about and ignored for a long time. There is nothing in the Constitution addressing it, only that the Senate can write their own rules.
I do not like one person having the power to stop legislation, but I also do not like the idea of the potential abuse of power by one party like we had during the latter years of the Obama administration.
I have no problem with ending the filibuster, but the party that does that had better be ready to pay the costs.

This is why I hate politics - not to long ago Democrats threatened to use every rule in the book to bring congress to screeching halt if the 60 vote rule was molested - thus the term nuclear option was born. Now when democrats are poised to do the same not surprisingly its all fine and dandy. In reality if either side enjoys a simple-majority our government will cease to exists as a democracy. This will tip the balance of power to congress and with it open the flood grates to an already festering stagnant pool of politicos. In a matter of seconds money, power and corruption will consume congress sending our democracy into a death spiral. 2nd, 1st, political opposition and so on will all be targeted and dismantled.
A simple and easy fix - term limits. However as most in congress would forgo the good of the people in lieu of personal gain not surprised this isn't being mentioned.

Thanks for your detailed comments, David. In the day-to-day Grind I forget things like this. They just Are trying to stack the deck Now because they know they are going to get their asses handed to them in less than 2 years. They want to prevent the inevitable losses in Congress.

PFC (Join to see) - Not surprised that congress fails to understand they are the major problem in politics. As to their ability to filibuster giving the time these guys could talk a dog off a meat wagon.
