Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. It's Thursday! Almost to the weekend although I have Red Cross events on both Saturday and Sunday this week.
Caregivers. As the quote says, all of us will find ourselves in at least one of the four positions if not all of them sometime in our lives. Caregiving can be tough but it is also rewarding and it is important to acknowledge both sides of it. If you lead with the same care and concern you would give to caregiving, those you lead will not doubt your sincerity or concern for their welfare.
Red Cross has programs specifically to support caregivers: The Military and Veteran Care Network (MVCN) as well as a workshop created for caregivers with their input. All of those are free and if you or someone you know is a caregiver, I suggest you check them out.

Charlie when I was a young 2LT my unit conducted Heilor Cast operations and an entire aircraft of SF guys were hurt. I wanted to help but other that get this or that I was pretty much useless but I saw a SR SF Medic perform miracles that day. I think that happened 89ish and that day both the good and bad have accompanied me for all these years and would pop up when needed. FYI the medic went on to accomplish some amazing things, most of which is classified, sorry. All that to say could not agree more about first responders and would love to visit with you and the COL and whoever else wanted and talk about first responders. Pardon my French they are fucking heroes.

I hope you have found your purpose(s) and that you have passion in working to fulfil your purpose(s). I expect you appreciate caregivers and at times you have or are a caregiver. I hope and pray you realize the LORD cares for you, those you love, and your desires. 'Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.’ [1 Peter 5:6-7 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray for an increase of the fruit of the Holy Spirit: kindness, gentleness, and self-control for each and every one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. YOU designed each one of us in YOUR image. YOU care perfectly while we are imperfect in all respects. By YOUR grace YOU empower spouses to care for each other with love and respect and parents to care for the infants and young children as they train them. I pray YOU open the eyes of the parents and their ears to YOU to learn how their children are bent to learn best. ‘Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.’ [Proverbs 22:6 ESV}
I lift medical professionals, medical volunteers, EMT personnel, and all other professional caregivers to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU guide the mind of each and their arms and legs as they prepare, counsel, treat, operate on, help to recover, and follow-up with post-surgery. I thank YOU LORD for healing each and every adopted child of YOURS from the penalty for sin as YOU justify each of us at salvation. ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” [Matthew 9:11b -13]
I pray for compassion, attentiveness, great listening skills, knowledge and wisdom for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who are caregivers for infants and toddlers; disabled children and adults; and geriatric patients especially those with advanced dementia. Thank YOU, LORD for the spiritual gifts and the gifts of helping with humility. I pray that YOU open our eyes to see how best to help. ‘For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.’ [Romans 12:4-8 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Thursday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Friday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Tha is so wonderful SGT (Join to see) we're all caregivers in one form or fashion my brother...

“We’re recognizing ‘Caregivers’ today for their awesome work they do for our veterans and those with Invisible Wounds like PTSD, TBI, MST and other Invisible Disabilities. They touch so many lives with their kindness and giving. The job of caregiving is tough, challenging and yet rewarding in so many ways. That reminds me of this quote…

‘No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.’ — Aesop

May there be a special place in your heart for Caregivers and their mission. They are committed to their cause, they find purpose, and they have passion to care. May your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Give thanks today to Caregivers you know.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
