Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. It's Saturday! Cold and rainy here in Northern Virginia.
Standing up is what real adults do. Too many find it easier to just get along and go along and then they don't like the results. If you don't stand up for what you believe in, you will be run over or pulled down by the crowd. In our personal relationships, we teach people how to treat us. What we tolerate we get more of; what we refuse to allow finally ceases. Is it fun or easy to say "no"? Of course not, but sometimes it is very necessary to do so. That doesn't mean we always get it right; it means we need to keep trying.

I hope and pray that you and I take firm stands on our foundation of faith in Christ. ‘He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. I pray that YOU motivate individuals with time, talents, and resources to bring material aid and support to widows, widowers, orphans and those recently terminated from employment. 'If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.' [James 1:26-27 ESV]
LORD I pray that YOU bring light to those who believe darkness is going to overcome them including the darkness of depression. I thank you LORD for the rock-solid foundation of Christ – the incarnate Word. YOUR Word sustains, edifies, illuminates, purifies, and educates each of your adopted sons and daughters. The LORD Holy Spirit dwells with the soul of each of us and HE sanctifies each of us throughout our lives on earth. I pray that when push comes to shove, we each take a firm stand for truth. Truth is absolute whether anybody accepts it. LORD I pray for an increase of moral courage, wisdom, discernment, grace and goodness for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters. 'But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.’ [1 Peter 3:14-16 ESV]
I pray for a firm foundation of support for widows, widowers, orphans, prisoners, and those recently terminated from employment by governmental decisions. I pray that YOU motivate individuals with time, talents, and resources to bring material aid and support to widows, widowers, orphans and those recently terminated from employment. 'If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.' [James 1:26-27 ESV]
LORD I pray that YOU bring light to those who believe darkness is going to overcome them including the darkness of depression. I pray that YOU restore hope to the hopeless, love to those who are unloved, and security to those tossed to and fro. I pray that YOU stabilize the foundations of families and marriages. ‘so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.’ [Ephesians 4:14-16 ESV]
I pray for wisdom, moral courage, and noble stands for justice for the honest and trustworthy governmental leaders and judges in the USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Ireland, Poland, Germany, France, Egypt, Israel, India, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, and Australia who are doing their best to stand up for the constitutional and God-given rights of their constituents. 'Have I not commanded you. Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.' [Joshua 1:9 ESV]
I lift the untrustworthy governmental leaders and judges in the USA, Canada, Mexico, India, China, North Korea, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, New Zealand, and Australia who refuse to stand up for just causes and abused citizens including those advocating constitutional rights. ‘When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.’ If a ruler listens to falsehood, all his officials will be wicked.’ [Proverbs 29:2, 12]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Saturday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Sunday morning.
