Good morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Cygnus Mosaic 2010-2020." If you zoom in on the photo from the APOD page itself, the outline of the constellation is more discernable (Cygnus is flying to the right, feet and Deneb on the left). The major stars (like Deneb) are toned down so as to not overwhelm the more delicate features that emerge from the imagery. When I look right, I see what appears to be two supernova remnants near the head of Cygnus. I also see a smaller one to the left about one o'clock from Deneb. My inner Renoir is not working too well this morning...the comments on today's APOD point out the North American and Pelican Nebulas (they are there, below Deneb at about seven o'clock), but I'm not seeing it. The work was accomplished using a range of different telescopes, cameras, and narrowband filters. Thank you my friend Maj William W. 'Bill' Price for posting the NASA Astronomy Mosaic Picture of the Day (AMPOD) for Thursday, February 11, 2021 entitled "Cygnus Mosaic 2010-2020."

This magnificent two-dimensional image of this section of God's creation brings to mind the glory of seeing this in four dimensions - including over timer. The Heavens declare the glory of God - to those with eyes to see.

APOD Background
"Explanation: In brush strokes of interstellar dust and glowing gas, this beautiful skyscape is painted across the plane of our Milky Way Galaxy near the northern end of the Great Rift and the constellation Cygnus the Swan. Composed over a decade with 400 hours of image data, the broad mosaic spans an impressive 28x18 degrees across the sky. Alpha star of Cygnus, bright, hot, supergiant Deneb lies at the left. Crowded with stars and luminous gas clouds Cygnus is also home to the dark, obscuring Northern Coal Sack Nebula and the star forming emission regions NGC 7000, the North America Nebula and IC 5070, the Pelican Nebula, just left and a little below Deneb. Many other nebulae and star clusters are identifiable throughout the cosmic scene. Of course, Deneb itself is also known to northern hemisphere skygazers for its place in two asterisms, marking a vertex of the Summer Triangle, the top of the Northern Cross."
