Capt Thomas Farmer - almost all prior service Marines no matter how short their tour in the Corps or how long the tour in another branch refer to them selves as a Marine.

Sgt David Hesser I think you misunderstand what I was saying and did not put it into the context of who I responded to.
My response was because CSM Darieus ZaGara seems to be taking exception to something by saying “That is not a Marine uniform to begin with.”
I am responding to CSM Darieus ZaGara statment by asking , why would he have to be in a Marine Corps uniform. Yes he could have pulled out his old Sergeants Marine Corps uniform from the 1950s. Or he could have chosen to dawn the uniform of a Senior Field Grade Warrant Officer. My response is asking, why does it matter which uniform he has on? It is not relevant to this cool story.

CW3-CW5 are considered field grade officers in the Army and are authorized to wear service caps.

It's not the service cap that is the question, it is the field grade ornamentation "scrambled eggs" on the visor. While I know that CW3-5 are treated as field grades (duties, duty Rosters, housing, etc), I have not seen in 670-1 or Da PAM 670-1 where that carries over to uniform insignia, accoutrements, appurtenances, or other ornamentation.
AR600-20 does designated senior warrants as "senior field grade warrant officers" in Table 1-1
CW5 Jack Cardwell any clarity on this issue?
