Good morning Col Burroughs. This deployment was a lesson in "do something" for me. I certainly couldn't fix what was going on for people but I was able to "do something" Provide a way to get food, a bed, a safe place or sometimes just someone to listen. Sometimes when I thought I had done the least (just to listen and "be there) I was thanked the most. Another lesson in what people remember and care about. During my last shift, I was asked to work a case for someone who sent in a request via email; she was definitely frantic for resources. They asked me to "do something" to help. I was actually able to find quite a lot for her. I left knowing I did my best on her behalf.

LTC Charlie Brown, it sounds to me like you did exceptionally well on your last deployment. Sometimes simply knowing there is someone who truly cares is enough. God bless.

I expect that you intended to do something in remembrance of September 11, 2001. Hopefully, you did something in honor of that tragic date: giving thanks to the LORD thanks for surviving, prayers for the survivors including widows, widowers, and orphans; prayers for deployed service members and their family members; prayers for the widows of the service members who died in Operation Enduring Freedom as well as other Global War on Terrorism operations including Operation Iraqi Freedom. ‘David answered the priest Ahimelech, “The king gave me a mission, but he told me, ‘Don’t let anyone know anything about the mission I’m sending you on or what I have ordered you to do.’ I have stationed my young men at a certain place [1 Samuel 21: 2-3a] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I lift the suburbs of Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon; and Atlanta, Georgia as well as the town of Kenosha, Wisconsin to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU protect the peaceful people in the suburbs from the rioters in the cities and that YOU bless the peaceful inhabitants of those cities with safety from the rioters and looter for the duration of nightly riots. ‘'Look, you scoffers, marvel and vanish away, because I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will never believe, even if someone were to explain it to you.’ [Acts 13:41 CSV]
I pray that many of the citizens in Nancy Pelosi’s district and nearby districts are phoning, emailing and faxing dissatisfaction to her and her staff as they want her to negotiate with the Senate majority leader to develop the Sars-2 CoV relief bill for the autumn.
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Friday night and will awake healthy on Saturday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

My youngest brother's F/A-18 squadron graduated Top Gun on 9-10. The next day, being arguably the best trained fighter squadron in the world, they were slated to deploy on the first carrier to the waters off Pakistan to fly missions on Afghanistan, USS Carl Vinson.

When they got there, they did something.

We need to keep doing things. Cheers, Rally Point.

Roger that Mark - we all have the ability to do something great for mankind, oursleves, and others. Today is the day brother. Have a great "R.E.D. Friday" as we remember those deployed and keep this in mind PVT Mark Zehner:

"Today is a new day and day we can all 'Do Something" whether it's a goal you're working on, or a friend or veteran in need of help, you can make a difference. Time to get up, get out, and make it happen. May you always have the right attitude to do something great and meaningful every day of your life; may you always take the best care of yourself, so you can make it happen; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Let's "Remember Everyone Deployed" today until they come home and let's remember those innocent people that perished on this day on 9/11/2001 and the brave First Responders that gave all. Today is the day - Do Something!" - COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
