Interesting but it could have been better named. I was expecting a gun that fired needles. "Breech loader" or "cartridge gun" might have been more apt

Capt Gregory Prickett - Which came first, the firing pin (needle) or the cartridge? I know there were paper cartridges with powder and ball to facilitate muzzle loading. Gee, I know lots of things about weapons. My question was one of nomenclature. The innovation here was placing the percussion cap in the cartridge rather than having it separate. The needle was necessitated by the location of the percussion cap. The percussion cap located inside the cartridge seems to have necessitated the needle. See where I'm going with this or must I treat you as stupidly as you treat me?

Capt Gregory Prickett - The video explained it quite well. The fact that you chose to explain it again to me is quite indicative. BTW, I suspect that burning paper in an a rifle chamber may have been the problem with the fouling. Now, here I will defer to your greater knowledge and ask for confirmation or alternate explanation
