I had to chuckle my friend Lt Col Charlie Brown Sense of smell is relative after all.
My youngest son lost his sense of smell many years ago due to a significant head injury. I let him know that he would regain his sense of smell over time - that is a benefit of God's design of us.
My neurosurgeon confirmed that similar to my own remapping of nerve functionality in my legs and feet, my son should regain his sense of smell.
I am not all concerned about coronavirus.
I have too chuckle at all the attention focused on preventing spread of viral agents and infections. The lengths people have gone to "protect' themselves are amazing. Much of what is being done has been advocated for decades - from sick people covering their mouth and nose, washing hands, not getting close to communicable sick people, etc.
A cousin of my wife who lives in Miami encourages my wife to wash her shoes off outside based on the chance of stepping on fresh spit from an infected person….

I use an albuterol inhaler and a steroidal nasal spray each day which impacts my sense of smell.
