APOD: 2020 March 8 - Wolf Rayet Star 124: Stellar Wind Machine

Good morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Wolf-Rayet Star 124: Stellar Wind Machine." A Wolf-Rayet (WR) star is one whose visible spectra indicates a depletion of hydrogen and prominent broad emission lines of ionised helium, nitrogen, carbon, and other heavier elements. We saw a previous image of a WR star on March 2nd (Dolphin Nebula). This one is located in the constellation Sagitta (the Arrow), and is located between the larger constellations Cygnus (the Swan) and Aquilla (the Eagle). WR Star 124 and its surrounding M1-67 lie about 15,000 light years from Earth.
