Anything reasonable that will help them regain some motion and independence would be wonderful. My baby-brother because a quadriplegic in 2006 as the result of a motorcycle accident, and he was told that he would never regain any function below his neck, but when I visited him in 2011, he had regained the ability to feed himself, cath himself, and get in and out of bed and go to the bathroom by himself. He had also gained some movement in his legs and feet. He had an electric wheelchair, so he could move about the house and go outside when he wanted.

That's really amazing. Some people have damaged but not severed their spinal cord or the nerves were damaged but not destroyed and some recovery is gained with therapy. I think often they give you the worst case senario so that you won't blame them if you don't recover some function.

Lt Col Charlie Brown Rocky is an Army Veteran, and was a volunteer Firefighter before his injury. He was injured while responding to a fire call on his motorcycle. He constantly amazes his doctors and therapists by his tenacity and will to get better.
