LCDR Thomas Doherty (USNR-R Ret) - Obviously you are not understanding my point. My comment was originally about DNA, genetics, and genealogy and how you came to your conclusion with the chart that you gave. The problem with the chart - it does not show haplogroups directly, what it does show is the 'population divisions' and their relationship in an MDS plot and though partially based on DNA haplogroups that is not the full story. Interesting that the chart comes from the study referenced but with little context.
Your contention that 'Palestinians' as a whole are closely related to present day Jewish populations, while on the surface appears to be accurate, turns out to be inaccurate with the evidence. - "Previous investigations based on binary Y chromosome polymorphisms suggested a common origin for Jewish and non-Jewish populations living in the Middle East (Santachiara-Benerecetti et al. 1993; Hammer et al. 2000). Our recent study of high-resolution microsatellite haplotypes demonstrated that a substantial portion of Y chromosomes of Jews (70%) and of Palestinian Muslim Arabs (82%) belonged to the same chromosome pool (Nebel et al. 2000). Of those Palestinian chromosomes, approximately one-third formed a group of very closely related haplotypes that were only rarely found in Jews. Altogether, the findings indicated a remarkable degree of genetic continuity in both Jews and Arabs, despite their long separation and the wide geographic dispersal of Jews."
Then you go on to state that American Jews should not be allowed to emigrate to Israel due to their most recent ancestors did not come directly from the Middle East. But that is counter to the earlier part of your statement. And the evidence that you present shows the absurdity of your final statement.

SSG Robert Webster - What I am against is land theft and ethnic cleansing of the indigenous Palestinian population in Israel proper and the occupied West Bank. The DNA evidence shows they are native to the area, and it's morally wrong to take their homes and land to make room for settlers from the USA and elsewhere.
If you deny ethnic cleansing, you should look at this story. A Catholic church in the Holy Land, where descendants of the first followers of Jesus pray, burned by settlers:

Hey Thomas! You've never really done any study or been to Israel outside of the anti_Semite haters have you? Why do you believe the worst about Israel without actually knowing anything about Israel? You do know that there are Muslims and a few Christians sitting on the Knesset don't you? Have you read the PLO charter of 1964?

Historically speaking, Judaism is older than islam, you do know that right? Borders had to be redrawn in 1947 to prevent "Pan-Arab nationalism" from total genocide. Ethnic cleansing? The only cleansing is the "arab nationalists" attempting to finish the "final solution," once and for all.

1964 PLO Charter

Article 7. Jews of Palestinian origin are considered Palestinians if they are willing to live peacefully and loyally in Palestine.

Article 14. The liberation of Palestine from an Arab view point, is a national duty. Its responsibilities fall upon the entire Arab Nation, Governments and peoples, the Palestinian people being in the foreground. For this purpose the Arab Nation must mobilize its military spiritual and material potentialities, specifically, it must give to the Palestinian Arab people all possible support and backing and place at its disposal all opportunities and means to enable them to perform their roles in liberating their homeland.

Article 18. The Balfour Declaration, the Mandate system and all that has been based upon them are considered fraud. The claims of historic and spiritual ties, ties between Jews and Palestine are not in agreement with the facts of history or with the true basis of sound statehood. Judaism because it is a divine religion is not a nationality with independent existence. Furthermore the Jews are not one people with an independent personality because they are citizens of the countries to which they belong.

Article 19. Zionism is a colonialist movement in its inception, aggressive and expansionist in its goals, racist and segregationist in its configurations and fascist in its means and aims. Israel in its capacity as the spearhead of this destructive movement and the pillar for colonialism is a permanent source of tension and turmoil in the Middle East in particular and to the international community in general. Because of this the People of Palestine are worthy of the support and sustenance of the community of nations.

LCDR Thomas Doherty (USNR-R Ret) - I do not appreciate your BS response with the inclusion of 'ethnic cleansing denial.'
And as far as your illustration of a 'Catholic' church being burned by settlers, not only has that type of atrocity occurred in the immediate past, it has happened in the recent past, and all the way back to events more than a millennium (1,000 years) ago, by Arabs and by Europeans. So stick your BS example where the sun does not shine - Arabs, Kurds, Europeans, and Jews are all guilty of ethnic cleansing and attempted genocide in that same area. And the Romans back in 70 AD were also guilty of ethnic cleansing, so shove it. And the only ones left, that may not be guilty of that type of atrocity - the Samaritans.
