I read a lot more Science than I do anything else, partially because it is all mind boggling stuff: (A photon travels at the speed of light, so there is no TIME- which means when it left the Sun, it already knew it was going to hit your left eye at noon, on Sunday the 12th of November. Wrap your head around that ...if you can. So I love posts like this. Our real world, may not be. And that takes some time to digest. I think miracles start with babies, and then work their way up to the Cosmos.

Sgt (Join to see) - I know it takes time in our scale- but not for it. Einstein believed that light was (and so far, still is) the Universal Speed limit, but things travelling at the speed of light stay at that speed...until. Yep, a lady Scientist about a decade ago got light to slow down to meters per second. Then slower. When I last read up on her work, she had light going so slow...it could be "poured". Don't ask me how, it had something to do with lasers and cold. The Arrow of time, equations work in either direction, but we only move forward. And Time Crystals were a Theoretical Fancy just fifteen years ago...now they are working on them without applying energy to the system. Just changing the spin, on two electrons, separated by the width of the Galaxy yet acting at the same "time". And they think there might be practical applications for this stuff. Sheesh. My ignorance knows no bounds!

SGT Kevin Hughes Who was the lady scientist & when was the study on light done? I am interested in reading about it, Kevin!

Sgt (Join to see) - Her name is Lene Hau - and here is a link to an article about her work: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/putting-the-brakes-on-light-166960997/ Pretty neat stuff!
Light travels 186,000 miles per second in a vacuum; in Lene Hau's lab, it ambles at 38 miles an hour
