I concur with your bottom line
"Let’s allow people not only to keep arms but also bear them. Conceal them on their person. It is doubtful that one in a hundred, or even a thousand, will do so. However, the mere chance that a law abiding citizen may be armed will give the predators pause, won’t it? It’s just common sense, even among criminals."
