Here's some thoughts about Red Flag Laws.
1. I contend that if someone has their guns removed under a Red Flag Law, then the likelihood that they will resist a second confiscation with weapons is significantly increased.
2. If in fact a second confiscation is successfully completed the person affected will, if they are are to determine it, will attempt to 'punish' the person that reported them.
3. That all Red Flag law confiscations will, de facto, become a permanent confiscation of the person's weapons.
I say this last because if politicians can achieve the first without the person being guilty of actually doing a crime then the door is wide-open for the never-return of any confiscated weapons.
In effect Red Flags Laws will lead to an increase in crime by people that quite likely have lived their lives without ever resorting to violence.

There's no light at the end of the "Red Flag Law" tunnel. Advocates console themselves that they are a "compromise"...permitting government to get around the 2A to interdict would-be criminals, while "protecting" the rights of the innocent. Trouble is, one man's "criminal" is another man's "patriot". Every signer of the Declaration of Independence was, at that moment, "guilty" of sedition...the penalties for which were severe. Every solider in the Continental Army was, in the eyes of the British...a traitor, a pirate, and in our modern parlance- a terrorist. Many legislators and sincere gun-control proponents seeking an answer to mass violence may say, "But what are we supposed to DO?" The answer to that question isn't simple, but it's the only reasonable and effective solution: we have to transform society from within. Violence is inherent in the human species; doubt it? Try harming a woman's child in front of her eyes and see what happens. It's a natural response to dangers and threats...and only the naive pretend either are entirely controllable. However, as a society, we have the ability to instill values in our children-such as fairness, integrity, ethics, and compassion. These are not to be confused with "false" variations based on enforced compliance with "progressive" ideology (which in my opinion, may actually exacerbate some forms of violence)... but genuine codes of voluntary social order and mutual respect for rights. It's a long game aimed at programming people to be incapable of taking life merely because they are frustrated, unconnected, and unfulfilled.

A door we need to keep closed. Red Flag laws can/will expand to cover other facets of life.
