One of the best songs for inspiration. Let me put another spin on this with a video i use in a Wellness Camp we developed. I facilitated the section on running, but focused on people moving and trying. Team Hoyt was the best I could find to do this- In the spring of 1977, Rick Hoyt told his father, Dick Hoyt, that he wanted to participate in a 5-mile benefit run for a lacrosse player who had been paralyzed in an accident. Far from being a long-distance runner, Dick agreed to push Rick in his wheelchair and they finished all 5 miles, coming in next to last. That night, Rick told his father, “Dad, when I’m running, it feels like I’m not disabled.”

I always began my session with tasking senior leaders on negative speak about running. it is a portion of the fitness requirements to be part of the military. Like it or not- you actually singed on the bottom line agreeing to it. I stated if you are speaking negatively, how do you expect those following you to respond? I then went through a quick workshop in a sense of the benefits and risks. Most people thought as a runner I would lecture on run until you drop, but I focused on people being active and offered help to anyone that asked. This is how I always ended my portion.

I used this video to show people- you can do anything and inspire them to at least try. Great post Kerry on Inspiration Day. Sorry to take up so much font here.
