Thank you, my friend LTC (Join to see) for posting the perspective from Hans Binnendijk on five consequences of life without NATO.
1. The author seems to confuse U.S.A military services with NATO. EUCOM is the COCOM for the USA forces in Europe.
2. NATO is the alliance with the European Union (EU) which tilts to the left in many respects .
3. This is a good thing IMHO. "NATO’s retirement would thirdly exacerbate divisions within Europe. NATO’s glue not only holds European militaries together — it provides the principal forum to discuss and coordinate security issues. The European Union is unlikely to substitute for NATO in this respect because it has no military structure, few capabilities and no superpower leadership to bring divergent views together." Since UK and France and many other European states don't line up with the EU, I would hope that the EU would disintegrate very soon.

When veterans must sleep on warm gratings outside the Supreme Court just to keep from freezing to death, I really don't give a ____ what happens to our lukewarm friends in Europe!

Homeless veterans tend not to sleep outside the Supreme Court CPT (Join to see) since it can be windy there. People hoping to get into the Supreme Court for a particular case can be found waiting outside hoping to get in.
They tend to find more sheltered areas that are less trafficked. Under railroad trestles is a popular place in many areas.
Further north in NY City and Boston, the homeless often can be seen huddling by steam grates in any area with a functioning steam grate.

Sir,
We detained a bunch there at o'dark thirty one morning when the presidential motorcade was to pass at about 0700. I only know what I saw and nothing else.

NATO and the UN exists due to the largesse and power of the USA. Neither of them are structured in a way to complete their mission without us. We will not abandon them, but it appears that the former Clintonista is a globalist rather than a nationalist.

Kind of like countries who sell port leases to the Chinese. They undermine the safety of the world.

Well we could leave Germany to the gentle caress of Mother Russia and protect those who have proven themselves to be our friends.
