Crazy talk follows: why can’t the MAGTF have A10s? Why can’t the Army have a dirt MAGTF with A10s? Sound crazy? Once upon a time all services but the USCG and Army flew F4 Phantoms. The Navy, Marines, and AF flew A1 Skyraiders at one point or another. All services flew UH1ssome still do. Marines and the Navy have had land based airframes. Once upon a time the Army had its own Air Force...

Maj Marty Hogan - heaven forbid we exploit a mature, effective, and established weapon system. It's about Title X service responsibilities and the division of joint capabilities

LTC Jason Mackay - Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen the problem always point back to the color of money and not peeing in someone else's backyard. The AF brass don't like the A10 cause it is not shiny....the devastation it leaves behind however is the element of war that leaves an mark. I worked this airframe for 12 years and hands down one of the best and battle resistant weapons we own. We should all have two or three in our home arsenal. Exploitnign an asset that would accomplish the mission. Who would have thought that would be a good idea?

Maj Marty Hogan Ive always loved the A-10. Posted this before, but goes back to when I was in SOS and we were getting a briefing from the A-10 Program Manager. While he was briefing he was handed a note that the first production memorandum had been approved.

Problem is like Capt Hogan said, folks don't like others peeing in their back yard. This is one of those things that siays...I might not want it or need it anymore but I don't want you to have it...can you imagine a pissed off CW4 officer in that cockpit??? there wouldn't be any more dirt left. I wish we would give them to the Marines and Army because no one understands their doctrine like themselves. IMHO.
