They're too tall, too heavy, too loud, and too crowded. Even in Scout configuration, can you imagine 5 people living in one for a few weeks? Don't even try to imagine a few months. Your first year on one will be the most painful period of time I can remember, thus far. They are so crowded that you will smash your elbows, knees, wrists, hips and head on things you never noticed stuck out that far. Then you will hit something else you hadn't noticed while trying to avoid those that you had. That being said, shortly after NETT from M113s to M3 circa, April 1985, a Janes Defense journalist asked me how I liked being a gunner on one. My answer, "Excluding the Blackhawk Helicopter, this is the baddest piece of equipment in the entire Army inventory!" R
