Thank you my friend SGT (Join to see) for sharing the music video of Diana Ross performing her cover of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" in honor of the fact that on September 19, 1970, Diana Ross started a three week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough'.

Ain't No Mountain High Enough was a Motown song writers Valerie Simpson and Nickolas Ashford in 1966 for the Tamla label, a division of Motown. It was first sung by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell and released on the album "United" (1967).

R&B/soul song written by Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson in 1966 for the Tamla label, a division of Motown

"Ain't No Mountain High Enough"
Lyrics
"Listen, baby
Ain't no mountain high
Ain't no valley low
Ain't no river wide enough, baby

If you need me, call me
No matter where you are
No matter how far (don't worry, baby)
Just call my name
I'll be there in a hurry
You don't have to worry
Cause baby there

Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you, babe

Remember the day
I set you free
I told you you could always count on me, darling
From that day on, I made a vow
I'll be there when you want me
Some way, some how
Cause baby there

Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you, babe

Oh no, darling

No wind, no rain
Nor winter storm
Can't stop me baby

No no baby

Cause you are my goal

If you're ever in trouble
I'll be there on the double
Just send for me

Oh baby!

My love is alive
Way down in my heart
Although we are miles apart

If you ever need a helping hand
I'll be there on the double
Just as fast as I can

Don't you know that there...

Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you
Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough"

Here are the songwriters performing the song they wrote

To be fair here, Diana Ross pirated the song from the Supremes who recorded it first with Diana Ross in 1968. Diana Ross didn't even write the song it was written by Ashford and Simpson. So the question is...........are the Supremes getting compensated each time Diana Ross sings or sells the song as should be the case or is Diana sucking up all the revenue for herself? I don't know the answer to that question but I would be curious to find out as it might help explain to me why the Supremes are so bitter about the split.
