Back in the day I saw a few pieces of equipment, Jeeps, Gama goats, 1/4 ton trailers that streamered in, the funny thing was they were dead lined but the unit couldn't get them off the books back then That is until after the drop then it was all scrap metal, no fuel or oils in any of them, come to think of it there was very little usable parts on them prior to the drop :)
We also jumped before the equipment came in and yo raced off the DZ so that if something happened you didn't get slammed into the sand or shrapnel from the impact. We never trusted even fully open equipment chutes :)

MSgt George Cater - I don't know about that I was a young Private and when I pointed out the missing mirrors , a tire and two headlights my Squad leader said go pull security in the wood line :) In addition while rare 1 streamer can happen bu two or three is a full investigation with torture and life ending results. In the 80's we had a rigger doing stuff to main chutes, even with his training he was caught.
