My former brother-in-law was a SP5, Finance Clerk, 73C20, stationed at HQ 25th Inf Div, Cu Chi, RVN. When I went to AIT at Ft Ord, CA, he had returned to CONUS and was stationed as permanent party.
On those rare occasions when I could get away, I would visit his family on post and have a real home cooked meal. The price I paid was listening to him while we watched the evening news. Every time there was something on about Viet-Nam, he would turn to me and say, "That's where you will be in a few weeks!" He was right, of course, but I did not particularly want to think about that.
