Thanks for sharing LTC (Join to see). Thankfully this type of information has been shared previously on this net primarily because we are interested :-)
One of my personal favorites is John Leslie [Jackie] Coogan who as a child acted with Charlie Chaplin and in his later years was Uncle Fester on the Adams Family.
US Army Air Corps. Enlisted in Army March 1941. After Pearl Harbor, requested transfer to Air Corps as a glider pilot because of his civilian flying experience. After graduating from Glider School, he was made a Flight Officer and he volunteered for hazardous duty with the 1st Air Commando Group. In Dec. 1943, the unit was sent to India where, by using CG-4A gliders, it airlifted crack British troops under Gen. Orde Wingate during the night aerial invasion of Burma (Mar. 5, 1944), landing them in a small jungle clearing 100 miles behind Japanese lines.

Yes, it may have been discussed previously but I was taking the chance since I do want to listen about other stuff other than the NeverEnding Story happening on Capitol Hill about Russia corruption Hillary Clinton feeling sore about losing the election or wackos with assault weapons attacking Congressman at a baseball field that happened to like Bernie Sanders. I feel we can discuss this as a safe subject and not a rhetorical one.

LTC (Join to see) - I did not realize that Jackie Coogan had married Betty Grable. This was the first marriage for both of them. He and Betty Grable were engaged in 1935 and married on November 20, 1937 and they divorced less than two years later on October 11, 1939.

This story is amazing! Wow, his record is still sealed period that is very strange? I read the book hazardous-duty buy General Singlaub. This is the general that President Jimmy Carter fired when he he was the deputy Commander for American forces in Korea. He was an OSS man and he was not afraid of losing his career to keep American soldiers in Korea and it worked! I have this book it is an excellent read. This guy is still alive. He is a true hero even if he was tainted by the Iran-Contra scandal.
