It is very strange that Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Mechanical) 3rd Class Peter Mims reportedly hid himself in one of the engine rooms on the US Seventh Fleet cruiser USS Shiloh for a week SGT (Join to see).
There was a lot of USA and Japanese manpower and capability wasted on searching for him. \
While I am glad that Peter Mims will be evacuated for a mental assessment, I hope that whoever reported him missing that assumed he went overboard will be investigated as well.

SGT (Join to see) It is pretty safe to say his Navy career is over. I really hope that the Navy recognizes that this kid needs help, and gets him the help he needs so that he can succeed in his future endeavors.
