The people of Iraq and many other parts of the world, especially that region, have been victimized by British colonialism. Other European countries and Russia were involved, however the British left this mess. Also, as I have opined previously, without a sense of nationalism there is no desire to resist strong advances to rule the Iraqi people. The many divisions among the Iraqis feed the lack of nationalism. Besides religion, much of this division is the result of mandates established by external rulers.

No! It is all about indoctrination of false radicalized religion. And has been since before the reformation. Please read all the history. Otherwise you’ll be blaming the Hapsburgs, perhaps

My favorite part/resolution: "People in his part of the world are accustomed to having their lives upended. “We survived Saddam, we survived isis, and we will survive the Mosul Dam,” he said."
I guess that if you can survive Saddam, you can survive anything. Even a busted dam...well, Murphy's Law.

that is a big problem, I have no idea how this thing is still standing. Still compared to ISIS, it is not as bad as they are. the dam will only kill people down stream from it, and it will only kill once. ISIS is more diverse in its killings. In theory, they could fix this problem by building a dam upstream in a better location, then destroy this one carefully, problem solved. Killing off ISIS will require more work.
