I'm a person who can stand a lot of pain without complaining however, the sciatic nerve has been causing me a lot of pain in my right leg for years. For a long time I thought it was my hip joint but the V.A. did an xray and they said it is fine. The problem is I don't have any cartilage in my lower back; it's all worn away. My primary care has recommended acupuncture as a way to help deal with the pain. I have resisted up until now but am seriously considering it. It is really bad at night when I am trying to get to sleep and keeps me awake for hours sometimes while I am tossing and turning trying to find a position to make it ease up. Lately, driving more than a half hour makes it a challenge to go any distance. I have an appointment on 29 July with whole health to discuss this and other options. I'd like to hear from anyone who has tried this treatment and what if it helped them.

I haven’t tried it, however, with a reputable acupuncturist I would try it if necessary. Years ago I watched a video of brain surgery on an individual that had to be awake to respond to different stimuli of the brain. No anesthetic was used except acupuncture. It convinced me if you have a good practitioner it works.

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney you cannot be anesthetized while doing Acupuncture LOL your not supposed to...the needles are just supposed to pierce the top dermis and epidermis not past the muscle layer unless it's deep tissue acupuncture. Even then it's not supposed to hurt...it's a repetitive process; not just once or 2 times will work...I would say several months...western medicine has us in the mindset cures need to be automatic...in eastern medicine, it's not. Now my thoughts are you want to try something that's been around for 5000+ years with proven results or western medicine that has only been around since the Grecian Times?

Similar story here!! I’ve struggled with nerve pain in my arm due to a pinched nerve in my neck. After (physically and financially) exhausting various treatments, I found a fantastic chiropractor near me: https://bodysciencetherapy.com/chiropractor-mississauga/ who focused on spinal alignment and made a significant difference in my recovery. I’ve also heard great things about acupuncture for nerve pain, so it could be a beneficial addition to your treatment plan. Believe it or not, I used to be a big advocate for conventional medicine, so this was fun for me, lol. Anyway, I hope your upcoming appointment goes well and you find relief with acupuncture! <3

I was not impressed when I tried accupuncture.,My current ‘treatment’ is application of a pulsing vibrator that emits ‘waves’ into my posterior. After the second of ten weekly treatments, the middle toes of one foot were painful for 24 hours. The technique has not yet been identified by name. When I do get a name for it, I shall share it.

Is this a duplicate? Elsewhere, I posted a link to a SHOCKWAVE equipment provider. Now I am unable to get that site up due to the vagaries of RP.. The link with descriptions of Shockwave treatment must still be on the ‘net’ under “SHOCKWAVE”..
