A number of us watched it including Me, I'm pretty sure a large number of people watched that funeral or at least part of it.

Hey, if I’m wrong about my statement about a lot of people on RP not watching, all the better. The statement wasn’t addressed towards anyone in particular. I do know that a lot of antipathy has been directed at John McCain in the past here on RP. And to be clear about it, I didn’t agree with a lot of his positions at times, and I was disappointed in actions he took. But I highly respected him.

Both political parties admired him at times, and hated him at other times. To me, this is evidence that he always did what he thought was best for the country, not what was best for one party or the other. I didn't always agree with his stances on issues, but I always respected him. Those that criticize him for "being captured" miss the point. He was captured because he was an active participant in combat operations for his country. Lest we forget, he flew more than 20 combat missions before he was shot down. And when he was shot down, it was over North Viet Nam territory......which means his mission was extremely risky. Only men of character and courage were willing to take those risks for their country. I tip my hat to this patriot........may he rest in peace.
