Researchers, co-led by Bridget Scanlon of The University of Texas at Austin (UT), have found that up to 11 million tons of rare earth elements could be extracted from coal ash in the U.S., a waste product of coal burning. That’s almost eight times the amount of rare earth elements currently in domestic reserves. Their findings, detailed in a September 17 study in the International Journal of Coal Science & Technology, highlight that this approach could significantly reinforce national supplies without the need for further mining.
“This really exemplifies the ‘trash to treasure’ mantra,” Scanlon said in a UT statement.

Lt Col Charlie Brown Finally, a useful thing from coal ash. I remember growing up in Southern Illinois. Coal was the main heating source for many houses, including ours.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Snipe hunting wasn't to bad, what was worst was, as a Cherry, you were sent to the supply sargent to get a bucket of Prop Blast, and a Sky Hook. After telling the supply sargent what you were there for, you always had to give him 100 push-ups.
Then after you did the 100 push-ups, he would tell you he was all out of Prop Blast. Returning back to the platoon, you would have to do 100 more push-ups because you didn't come back with the bucket of Prop Blast.
After you did your 100 push-ups, you were then told, "Welcome to the Airborne", now get out of my sight, CHERRY!

SGT (Join to see) - In the mid and late 90's on Ft. Sill ranges, the Range shack and troops tents were heated with coal.

SGT (Join to see) That's a lot of push-ups to be able to jump out of a perfectly good aircraft :-))

Amn Roger Omberg - It's not what the Chinese know that we do not know. The Chinese just don't care about "global warming" or a "Green New Deal". The Chinese just want to find the cheapest way to do what they need to do, and they have a lot of coal. So they burn coal to get energy and tell the globalist "green energy activists" to take a hike.

The only problem with embers statement which also follows the green new scam/Paris climate accords
The USA burns the cleanest of all nations. And in the climate accords it does NOTHING against china and India the two biggest polluters in the world, but punishes the USA massively and billions of $$$$
Doesn’t pass the smell test
