Fascinating information, PO1 William "Chip" Nagel! I knew we had old and often dead satellites floating around, but I thought we had military units that kept up with every piece of space "junk" out there. In fact, I know an ANG unit that was supposedly assigned that duty at one time' however, they lost that mission several years back.

MSgt Hal Weeden, MBA We actually have a "Unit" not sure if the Air Force or Navy is in charge though. Operated by "Contractors" Mostly Ex-Military. GEODSS. They have a GEODSS Telescope on Diego Garcia and the Guy I knew that worked on it was Arthur French "Frenchy". Frenchy and I were in the Same Squad in Boot Camp and Served together on Adak, AK.
