Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the August 27th edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD). Residents of Peru and Spain were able to see the Moon eclipse Saturn last week, resulting in a number of images like the one featured today. Most of us only saw a close conjunction of the Moon and Saturn given the closeness of the Moon to the Earth. The next opportunity to view a Saturnian eclipse will be September 17th, but only for residents of the Western United States (and Australia and Hawai'i). I'll post a link to the relevant in-the-sky.org page in a separate comment if you'd like to check it out.
