It has been some time since we have seen much of anything from Mars due to the Solar Conjunction between Mars and Earth... The Conjunction has passed and we now have a video that was taken about a day ago... Here is what NASA/iGadjetPro have published in the Description:
iGadgetPro
"On October 20, 2021 NASA’s Perseverance Rover transmitted latest video from Mars after Solar Conjunction and Strange Mars Sounds recorded by Insight Lander. Video shows NASA's Perseverance Mars rover using its auto-navigation, or AutoNav, technology to drive 548 feet (167 meters) on Sept. 12, 2021, the 200th Martian day, or sol, of the mission. AutoNav allows the rover to autonomously re-plan its route around rocks or other obstacles on its way to a pre-established destination. Video was recorded by the rover's navigation cameras; they are capable of color, but black-and-white images are better for navigation. Final footage has been sped up by roughly 200 times with roughly 30 seconds between frames.
Sounds of Mars in the end of the video are dinks and donks recorded just after sundown on July 16, 2019 (Sol 226). Listen carefully and you can also pick out an eerie whistling that the team thinks may be caused by interference in the seismometer's electronics on Mars Insight Lander."
Credit: nasa.gov, NASA/JPL-Caltech, NASA/JPL-Caltech/ASU
I hope you all enjoy it... Please feel free to tag others to widen the reach to them...
Thanks,
Kerry

At about the 3:35 point in the video there are some very strange sounds being picked up by the Perseverance Rover... Tag others so they can check it out...

That's FANTASTIC Sgt (Join to see) . I hadn't thought about the audio aspects on Mars but it makes sense it would be very different. I'm also surprised that the off-the-shelf mics work so well given the rather flimsy and inexpensive materials used in their construction. Couple that with mass-production and... well, It's amazing. Thanks, Kerry!
