Here's a question of a somewhat rhetorical nature. As a former and probable future CinC, Is Mr. Trump eligible for a Purple Heart now? He was wounded by an enemy bullet. He was involved in the type of fighting for our Country, that people of His stature, engage in.

Without rendering an opinion on the seriousness of the inquiry, the answer is no for the simple reason that he's not a member of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Even if he was the serving President, it would still apply as the President is not a member of the armed forces, even though he is in command of them.

Purple Hearts are awarded only for members of the military wounded in combat. Bone spurs from running from the draft board don’t count either. Sure, what happened was bad. The nation also deserves a medical report of the injury.
