I don't ignore it...if they are illegal and not on a work visa then deport because the owners of those farms are breaking the law and the left is ok with that. They are illegal to be here and the farmers are breaking the law using them as workers. There are legal ways to bring workers across...we used to do it when it came harvest time. Before growing season we would put in a request for workers. They would get work visas, come and live on the property of the cotton gin and seed house, and go to work for the people that requested them. As part of the contract you had to pay them a certain wage and guarantee them so many hours a week regardless if you used them or not. At the end they would load up their cars and head back home to Mexico. That is the right way to doit. But that is not what the left is doing...the left is turning a blind eye to illegals working and farmers illegally using them...that is called human trafficking!

Most seasonal the farm workers actually do have permission to be here and many come back year after year and provide a valuable source of Farm Labor. They have been screened and I've never found on that was a problem in our local farms. These are NOT illegal migrants and don't confuse the two.

You do realize that most those who pick are actually Mexican residents who only come here during the season and go home. And I hope you realize that currently Joe has not given green cards to the 12 million plus he let across so they can't legally work right now.

So you are good with exploiting illegals as long as you lettuce is cheap?
I did most of the jobs the illegals do in my area growing up and in college, I just didn't go it for the cut rate that they do. As I tell the builders who give me the crap that they can't find anyone to work, no, you can't find anyone to work for what you pay.
The real shame, and what most people on your side of this battle are ignorant about, is that there is NO limits to H2A Temporary Agricultural Visas. It was legislated so the migrant workers could come here legally and return home. The illegals just encouraged every greedy bastard to cheat.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - H2A's are still cheap labor, they just aren't as cheap. The employer contracts for a certain period and must make sure that quarters are available and that they are paid a legal rate. The illegals don't have that protection. I've seen what the illegals did to the Construction trade, destroyed the livelihood of anyone trying to play by the rules. The Home Builder is the only one that profited from the mess.
Throw the CEO of Sunkist or the CEO of Pulte Homes in jail for 30 days for hiring illegals, the next week everyone would have a new economic model.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - Good point, it's no harder for them than it is to get on social security benefits, welfare and/or a voter registration. All of which the left says they can't.
