4 July 1950: The carriers USS Valley Forge (CV-45) and HMS Triumph launch the first UN airstrikes of the Korean War.

You have to wonder, would it have been better if the generals would have been allowed to continue after communists at the end of WWII.

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. Can you believe it, I heard his speech. You know, the Old Soldiers Never Die, They Just Fade Away one. I wasn't very old so I can't say I was very impressed.

I really have to wonder why Stalin and Mao okayed the North Korean incursion. They had to test our resolve, I guess.
