(TONIGHT) Warriors for Life (WFL) — "Healing Through Faith!" — "Tempted By Satan!"
https://www.victoryforveterans.org/post/warriors-for-life-wfl-healing-through-faith-tempted-by-satan
Come and join Veteran SGT Steve McFarland for Tonight's "Healing Through Faith" addition of Warriors for Life (WFL) Virtual Group Support Community Services brought to you by Victory for Veterans (VFV).
TONIGHT's Topic: "Tempted By Satan!"
Even though it is not mentioned in John’s Gospel, another important step towards beginning His earthly ministry was when Jesus was tempted by Satan. So, we are going to take another brief side-trip into the other Gospels and pick up that event. The ministry of Jesus has begun… or has it? He has been baptized by John, the heavens opened, the Spirit descended upon Him in “bodily form” and the Father has spoken; now He has one more hurdle before He begins; He must be tempted, and in a sense, “tried” or “proven”, much as gem-stones and precious-metals are assayed for their purity and quality. Was He the “real-deal”? Did He have the “right-stuff”?
Jesus’ three temptations correspond to temptations common to us today: lust of the flesh, hunger of all types; lust of the eyes, or covetousness; and pride, lust for power.
Turn a stone into bread...
You can fly...
Become king of the world...
Could Jesus have failed the test? – Since Jesus DIDN’T fail the test, we will never know if He could have. He was tested so that He can understand our tests and temptations. Those were not the only temptations He faced. There were several times when adoring-crowds tried to make Him their king, but He passed on those as well. His most intense test was in the Garden as He faced the cross and all the suffering that went with it. He did go to the cross, and He endured both the physical-agony and having the full wrath of God for our sins poured out on Him.

Good early Tuesday, March 10, 2020 morning friend COL Mikel J. Burroughs
The top image which appears to make the Christ and Satan on equal footing is as far from the truth as possible. Satan is a created being who once was an archangel and rebelled against God and was thrust out of heaven. Satan and the demons are subject to the absolute will of God and HE bounds their reach and influence.
In the temptation of our LORD in the desert after HIS baptism by John the Baptist was in all probability in the spirit unless God enabled Satan to be take Jesus anywhere or become visible to humanity [that seems unnecessary, unlikely and to be outside of God's specific will].
Thank you, my making us aware t hat our friend and brother-in-Christ SGT Steve McFarland will be hosting tonight's Warriors for Life (WFL) Virtual Group Support Community Services on the topic Tempted By Satan!"
There is no sin in someone or something attempting to tempt us. Giving in to temptation is where sin lurks.
Thank you, my friend SP5 Mark Kuzinski for mentioning me.
