The Winds of Change Are Blowing...

When you are passionate about something, whether it’s a relationship, a hobby, a business or in my case the desire to help people, you must constantly force yourself to look within to make sure you are maintaining a balance between your goals and reality. I have spent close to two years now where every second of my days and nights revolve around one thing - helping Veterans. I wake up thinking about it, I work to a point of my family worrying about my health and many days even dream about it. This has been the most rewarding phase of my professional life. While trying to restore hope and purpose to Veterans, I found my own purpose in life.

However, I tried doing this while also creating a way to support my own family. This has made the process extremely stressful. I have watched my family sacrifice for my dream and purpose. I minimized our lifestyle, so we could do more for Veterans. And now it has taken a toll. So, after getting input from friends and strangers, including the voice of the Veterans directly, I have decided to sacrifice once again.

I am happy to report that we are in the final stages of “giving” our program and company to a Veteran focused non-profit. By doing this my salary and expenses are removed, and more money and resources can go directly to Veterans. I feel this is the right move to help more. Its tough to let go of my dream to ‘own’ it, but as the old saying goes: if you love something, then you must let it go.

I will remain an intricate part of everything as a board member and will continue to selectively mentor and guide those Veterans that seriously step up. I will help drive the vision and mission to completion as well. The only real change is I am going to go out and make my own way once again. I don’t want my family to be dependent on the money we receive while trying to help people. From my perspective, this makes what I am trying to do pure and beyond reproach.

I believe we live in a society and culture that has lost hope in each other where we expect others to take advantage of us. Most people are like ants these days, they simply get in line and follow everyone else. My hope is that by bringing the idea under a 100% non-profit structure, by making the money go completely to Veterans, that more people will get involved in helping me solve the problem. We cannot have our heroes giving up. In a sense, I hope this makes people more comfortable that I am really trying to help.

I still believe we can restore hope and purpose and ultimately save lives by arming them with good careers. For anyone that is already in the program or those considering coming aboard there will be no change as we will continue to fight and do what we set out to do. For any money being donated, raffles or purchases of services this money will immediately go under the non-profit. My hope is that many more will be willing to use our program to change their situation now. I also hope this will motivate more to help; we need people to get involved in the fund-raising, raffles, talking to local fund-raising campaigns in their area, sponsoring our motorcycle rides in their areas, etc. Now you will know this money is all going to help the Veterans.

As for me my position will be completely zero income so if you want to help me, let me know about any open positions where I can get reconnected doing what I have always done for corporations. My passion is strong. I am not picky at this point in my career; I have risen to the top, I have fulfilled my goals, now I just want to earn a decent living, so I can spend my days helping others.
