MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. when the wind does not blow at the most critical times that usually shows that wind turbines do not work When oil is needed to keep the internal parts from freezing and breaking, this shows that we cannot function on a society without fuel. Those who are talking electric only did not do well in science classes

Makes good points on the science side with which I agree, unfortunate that he makes it a political issue, loses some credibility as a result. I know I'll take flak on this but I would still like to see us keep working with nuclear power.

Neuclear power is fine until an unusual event happens. Just ask the Japenese or the Russians

My issue with nuclear is the spent rods. Its right there with carbon capture. Lets leave it for someone in the future to deal with. Not sure we need that many DU tank rounds anymore, so back to burying them or dumping them in the ocean. Its a total mess since they have not been allowed to send them to the place that was built to store them, so lots are just being stored at the plants.

I agree that the spent rods are a major unresolved issue. Not convinced that we have done enough to work out a better solution such as pyroprocessing and in the meantime ensuring that dry cask storage at an away-from-reactor site is taking place.

My son said that nuclear power was what we should depend on in the future. Something to look into.
