Well, my friend PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Syria has been a civil war with many different sides and supporters from Iran to Russia and Turkey.
If the Syrian Kurds are wise they will move east to Iraq. If not they will be crushed by Turkish special forces.
To be honest, I am thankful that we are pulling back from Syria - especially with conventional forces. Syria is a potential quagmire for the USA.
1. Pulling back from Syria improves our foreign relations with both Turkey and Russia.
2. Of course, our forces in Iraq are in much more stable nation than it was in 2015.

I will never understood why we have not carved out a stat for the Kurds in Northern Iraq and even put a base there. Sadly the Kurds won’t win up against our NATO alliance.

Get us out of Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq. I’m tired of being at war.
