SSG Warren Swan thanks for the post, my knees and backs are gone, it's a pain for me, but the thrill will last a lifetime.

AATW, SSG Warren Swan! My right knee has been blown since '95, but I'm still walking on it! Wasn't parachuting that did me in, but water ski jumping when in college. Obviously, I wasn't very good at it!

It wasn't really Parachuting that did my knees and back in either... It was carrying that 150 lbs of gear in my ruck, and LBE/LBV/IBA. In LRS, our rucks typically weighed 90-110 lbs, another 35-40 lbs for LBE loaded with ammo water, grenades, smoke, and other incidentals, plus the weight of a weapon system, did me in.

I dont know how much mine weighted, but: 3 claymores, 5 qt. canteen water, 2 qt canteen water, LURP rations and C's for 5 days, 21 mags, plus one in weapon, PRC 25, poncho, poncho liner. Did I miss anything, all I know is you ate as much as you could the first day to lighten the load
