Actually SSG Diane R. it seems a lot of pundits, tabloids, and rabble rousers are talking about the comments of the President which were focused on countries which tend to be corrupt and not the people who live there.
I concur with you that it is best to start locally in developing nations and help the farmers and families support themselves by getting potable water sources and developing skills in farming and raising livestock, etc.
One of the biggest challenges in any corrupt system is to get the government away from corrupt official's and training people who care about the people of the and instead of focusing on lining their own pickets.
thanks for mentioning me SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL

Excellent analysis LTC. Special forces, as I understand it, are often slated to help in some of these countries to do just as you propose.

Not all that complicated when you strip it down. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. The catch here - does the man want to learn how to fish and will his society allow him to do so? I like this blog, bookmarked, thanks for sharing.

A lot of stuff here, I would like more definition of how this came about, but that wouldn’t be PC. Similar in many respects to Venezuela.
