Tombstone - Gunfight at the O.K. Corral Scene

Somewhat close to reality. They recently found the actual transcripts from the trial in the basement of the Cochise County courthouse in Bisbee. The transcripts are still in the hands of curators to ensure they are properly stored, etc. It will be very interesting to finally read those transcripts of the trial.
From what has been vetted out, the gunfight took place in a vacant lot behind a boardinghouse, not at the O.K. Corral. The shooting most likely occurred when Doc cocked back the hammer on his shotgun. Since everyone was more nervous than a whore in church, the sound of the cocking most likely triggered the others to start shooting. The shooting of Morgan Earp was fairly close to reality. The ongoing "feud" between the Earps and the Cowboys was simply an escalation of an already ongoing "feud" between the Cowboys (who were not all outlaws as some were ranchers) and the encroaching "civilization".
We usually go down to Tombstone a few times a year. It's been a tourist attraction for several decades now and it plays off the O.K. Corral shooting. Allen Street is getting more kitschy than I care for, but the Crystal Palace Saloon is probably the more authentic of the bars from that period of time.

Maj Marty Hogan - We don't live that far from Tombstone, so we go down about three times a year. I've delved into the history of Arizona, as well as the O.K. Corral fight, etc. Interesting to read the various papers of the time as to the "taming" of the west.
