I support Israel. I want them to thrive.
I have zero issues with Palestinians who just want to live and thrive.
I want our government to butt the hell out of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. It's not our job to fix the relationship of the two peoples. It's theirs, and if it's done by war then so be it.

It's our job to get our government out of the region, and minding it's own business.
However, it is necessary to be able to know enough about the issues (all of them comprehensively from all sides) to be able to talk about them in a reasonable way to elected and appointed government officials. Evenso when speaking up one is listed as being a "bad guy" on one side of the other, when in reality it is neither.
Study any one issues or region, long enough, and it becomes clear how bribery (pocket-lining with perks) and extortion of Congress and the Executive branch reigns supreme which too many serving do not have neither the will nor the courage to confront openly and honestly. The pocket-lining, and threats (realized after the fact as "promises") to promote candidates who will cooperate are stronger motivators than the future of our nation.
So, people who have everything to lose, remain silent - especially when they are aware of "the treatment" of those who do speak up, without an agenda, except trying to get out own nation to stop being being part of the problem and to stop trying to manage it.

Unfortunately, the West’s behavior is intensifying decades of bad policies. One of the worst foreign policy failures of modern Western history has been this mistreatment of Israel, our cultural cousin and fellow liberal-democratic, rights-based government. Post-Holocaust antisemitism, especially in Europe, has been one factor. Short-sighted national and economic self-interests also have deemed Israel an impediment to accessing the rich reserves of oil in Muslim lands, as well as their markets and migrant labor.
But rather than attributing the conflict on confessional pride and hatred of Jews that’s been part of Islam for 14 centuries, it’s been easier to blame Israel, that “shitty little country,” as a French diplomat called a fellow democratic ally. The politician’s classic gaffe –– saying the quiet part out loud –– captures, as does anti-Israel policies, how many European states really feel about Israel, not to mention the tyrannies and totalitarian states that the West has been serially appeasing.
