Thank you, my friend SGT John " Mac " McConnell for making us aware that June 7 is National Doughnut or Donut Day. Seems a fitting tribute to the "Salvation Army Lassies" who served doughnuts to soldiers during WWI. Of course donut and fitting don't usually blend well as anybody who consumes many donuts knows :-)

Great song. Can't say that I remember it but still have some Burl Ives vinyl and CDs. My Dad was a member of International House in NYC for a few years (rent was $7/week in 1937!) and he saw Burl Ives (who also stayed there) many times. His musical talents were in demand and enjoyed by the residents. I-House is still in operation.
