Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. A timely topic for this R.E.D. Friday in Jan.
We will get through this. We've seen worse and survived worse and we can weather the storm. What it will take is a willingness to stand fast, remember what we believe in, pray and both accept and give support to those who love us.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Absolutely Charlie. We've weathered worse times and we will get through the tough and hard times even better than before - I believe that... Thanks for the additional quotes and enjoy your day and weekend Charlie...

“During tough and hard times strong leadership becomes solid as a rock and individuals call upon confidence, courage, and determination to survive. Tough and hard time never last, but people do. May your true friends come to your aid during tough and hard times, just not when things are going good or easy; may those challenges, tough days, and hard times never define you, but help you grow and learn; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy during tough and hard times. Find your inner strength during tough and hard times. It is there for you to call upon.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect you are aware that your character has been forged on the anvil of challenging times. Hopefully while your character is robust, your heart/soul is tender to those who are in dire need this winter. I pray for endurance in doing good for others this winter, for each of us. ‘Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.’ [James 1:27 ESV], my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray for courage for those who are terrified on these winter nights and days. Let us gird up our spiritual loins as we lead those who depend on us in this bleak winter season. 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord you God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.' [Isaiah 43:1-3 ESV]
Brothers and sisters-in-Christ I pray that we are each enduring this current season of testing and trial and that our soul is prospering. I pray for an outpouring of peace in the face of testing of patience, health and good-will as COVID-19 infections spread through the nations of USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Europe, Africa, India, Australia, Korea, Japan, the Philippines and New Zealand. LORD I am grateful that YOU are in complete control of COVID and all things. 'Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.' [James 1:2-4 ESV]
I lift the peaceful-minded tourists, peaceful-minded demonstrators, and peaceful-minded citizens of Washington, D.C and northern Virginia to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU bless each one who is YOUR adopted child with a large measure of compassion, kindness and goodness in the wake of the riot on Wednesday. ‘But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.' [Galatians 5:22-24 ESV]
I pray that YOU shine enough light on Washington, DC to reveal those who instigated the assault on the capitol building. I pray that those complicit in launching the assault; limiting police presence on the Capitol grounds; stockpiling weapons and explosives, and those funding the weapons and explosives will be identified, apprehended, charged and prosecuted to the full extent of Federal law. ‘Let destruction come upon him when he does not know it! And let the net that he hid ensnare him; let him fall into it—to his destruction! [Psalm 35:8 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Friday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Saturday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

You don't sharpen an axe with a marshmallow, you use the hardest stone you have. By the same token, if we shy away from the hard things, from the tough times, we will never develop that cutting edge. Unfortunately, we may be at a point where the temper and keenness of all edges will be tested.

Keep your nose to the grindstone on this fine RED Friday, RallyPoint!
