In daylight, the reflective belt is as useless as a safety strap on a back of a top heavy and open top 5 ton and LMTV. What is funny is that it keeps Sergeants Major or 1SGs busy with something to do when not being a grass guard (on some bases) or the banning backpacks and patrol/soft caps on hanging or being in the DEFAC saying its a safety issue(WMDs in the Defac? c'mon!) when the DFAC is almost empty half the time( like at Fort Dix for the later LOL). I have seen other silly things too done by the leadership.

6 years ago they put up those orange barriers that are filled with water in the parking lot of the Malstrom AFB Air Force Inn. As many of you know, (especially you pyro combat engineers with your blast radius card) putting those barriers 20 meters away from the Hotel will not make any difference if the car is parked 100 feet away with 50 pounds of C4. All it does is inconvenience hotels guests and gives some a false sense of security. I am sure its some good idea fairy base E-9/Senior Master Sergeant who does not have a clue about WMD. I am sure all the combat engineers are laughing about the last comment. LOL

The only thing worse than the Army PT belt is the Air Force flightline safety reflective belt (pretty much the same thing). We dress up in camouflage to be hidden and then wear a reflective belt so we can be seen. Military logic is a funny thing.

Yes... It's safety overkill.
